Show Information & Results
NFQHA events are planned to promote VERSATILITY in the Quarter Horse, and EQUALITY between exhibitors, and to protect the welfare of the horse. And, of course, they are planned to be FUN for the whole family. To that end NFQHA rules are different than many show associations.

NFQHA is Different

NFQHA EVENTS, INC.

NFQHA Events, Inc., a non-profit corporation was incorporated in 2001 to administer and manage all National Foundation Quarter Horse Clubs and NFQHA approved events. Events, Inc. is responsible for compiling all show records, and awarding National titles, certificates, and awards. Events, Inc. is also responsible for the Judge's clinics, judge approval, club approval and show approval.

All class fees, and club show approval fees are received by NFQHA Events, Inc., and all sponsorships are received and administered by NFQHA Events, Inc. Additionally, Events, Inc. receives all clinic fees, proceeds from Training Videos, and proceeds from sales of show records.

As of 07/27/2006 there have been 44,704 class entries in NFQHA sanctioned events.  All show records and individual horse show records are compiled and recorded by NFQHA Events, Inc. at the NFQHA National office. NFQHA competitors are eligible to earn Certificates of Ability and NFQHA Championships as well as National Year End Titles and certificates for the top 10 horses in each class (NYEC titles). Records are also kept on leading NFQHA sires.

Current show results are published on this website and lifetime (1996 to present) NFQHA show records are available for purchase. See example of NFQHA lifetime show record.

While NFQHA events offer a full slate of performance classes, the Versatility competition is the focus and earns the highest awards. COAs can be earned in individual classes but only versatility points count toward toward the coveted NFQHA Championships (this should not be confused with show Versatility Champions). At this time four horses have earned NFQHA Championships. The following articles tell the stories of these great athletes and their owners.

NFQHA Champions

Peppermint Brick / The Banks Family
A Washington Tivio / Robyn Ordway
RRR Dry Bar / Julie Stanley
Olenas Little Barb / Charlene Roberts

NFQHA scoring and criteria is quite different and NFQHA judges are required to attend an NFQHA clinic and pass written tests in order to judge. The clinics are also available to all competitors that want to attend in order to learn more. In addition we now now have a judges and competitors training video available.
